ECB has improved the economic forecast for 2009-2010

European Central Bank (ECB) has improved the economic outlook for 2009-2010. The ECB expects eurozone gross-up this year to decline by 4.1% and will grow by about 0,2% next year. In June, predicted decrease of both indices - by 4,6% and 0,3%

ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet has declared, that the decline in economic activity has come to an end, and now follows a period of stabilization and a gradual recovery.
According to him, the ECB will refuse measures from economy stimulation as soon as the situation in it will improve. In this case Jean-K.Trishe added that the ECB has no plans to increase the interest rate at which it provides unlimited amounts of credit to commercial banks.

After the speech head the ECB of the euro against the dollar and the yen began to rise.
ECB on Thursday left the base interest rate at 1% per annum, the minimum value of the history of the ECB since 1999.
